There are even more people that could benefit from these animals that do not realize that exist--and that they represent a treatment that can often meet needs that no other option can. Did you know that it is common for people to bark (yes, that’s right, people barking!) at service dogs? If people understood more about how these dogs “work,” they can be more respectful and appropriate these outstanding animals.

Mensa was founded in order to create a society of great intellects from around the world that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions in order to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity and to encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence.

Members of Mensa range in age from 2 to 102 and include engineers, teachers, actors, athletes, students and CEOs. They share only one trait — high intelligence. To qualify, members must have scored in the top 2 percent of the general population on an accepted standardized intelligence test administered by an approved organization, which is verified prior to admission. Mensa provides a forum for intellectual exchange among its members, which span more than 100 countries around the world, through lectures; discussions; journals; special-interest groups; and local, regional, national and international gatherings; and providing assistance to researchers, inside and outside of the organization.
